Setting a young production team up for safety success

Project Background

Our Client, a wholly-owned US Oil & Gas Service Company was experiencing a rapid growth period, employees were young and inexperienced while working in a potentially dangerous environment. Our L2P coach provided on-site support and training to field supervision, crews and HSE personnel to mitigate the risk.

Our Approach

  1. Introduced Advanced Safety Leadership concepts to the field team
  2. Surveyed crews to establish criteria on operational processes and hazardous conditions
  3. Developed Behavior Management Tracking Sheets (BMTS)
  4. Active review of BMTS by crews at the beginning of each shift
  5. Assigned a value to each scenario and associated mitigation (Target: 80% overall shift score)
  6. Recorded scores daily and reviewed them weekly; discussing behaviors and real life events
